How to know whether you need a breast lift surgery?
Everything can be assessed by the surgeon during the consultation, however, there are several generally accepted signs, indicating that the breasts are too much saggy.
- The nipples are pointed down and not horizontally;
- The nipples/aureole are at or below than a skin fold under your breast (when you don’t wear a bra).
- The breast is not sufficiently full or round-shaped and lacks volume, even when you wear a bra.
Hoe a breast lift surgery is done?
The surgery is done under the general anaesthesia and lasts up to 2-4 hours. A curved incision i made at the breast aureole edge, which further is extended vertically down to the centre of breast. Depending on the specific case, an incision can be extended along the skin fold located under the breast. The surgeon remove the unwanted lipid tissue and the skin. The nipple position is changed, they are lifted above into the more natural position. After the final corrections the sutures are applied in the incisions making efforts to reduce the size and visibility of a scar.
Post-surgical period and care
The post-surgical period after this surgery usually is 7–10 days, after this time the patients return back to their professional and usual activities. Of course it is necessary to avoid vigorous physical activities for at least 6–8 weeks, lifting heavy item, strains and arm lifting.
You will need about 1–2 weeks before welling and bruising resolve. To support optimal healing the physician will recommend special medical bra to be worn at least during the first days after the surgery. Lost of sensations can be experienced in the nipple area, however with the time the sensation will come back. After some 8 weeks you can wear your usual bra. The breasts will look good even without the supporting bra, they will be plumpy and regularly shaped.
