What is an incisional hernia?
An incisional hernia is a hernia that develops along a prior surgical incision in the abdomen. A hernia in the abdominal wall makes it possible for the abdominal organs to protrude outside the peritoneal cavity, which results in deformity or bloated abdomen.
An individual with an incisional hernia depending on its volume will visually notice abdomen bulge or deformity and also can experience muscle tension and pain while coughing or straining. In case of incisional hernia there is the only solution – a surgery.
