Liposuction is especially popular medical treatment helping to remove accumulated lipid tissue from the different body parts and to varnish body shape by making the body more proportional.

For sure, you know, that despite exercises and diets the aggregates of lipid tissue can develop in the body, which are difficult or almost impossible to control by means of sports. I such case this procedure may be helpful. The patients usually ask for a liposuction in the abdominal, buttock and hip area, as well from breast back, neck and upper arm regions.

How a liposuction is done?

The procedure is carried out under the local anaesthesia. A surgeon makes a small incision in the beforehand discussed areas; these incisions are used to insert a cannula – a very thin small metal tube. A cannula is moved under the skin to reach and aspirate the excessive lipid tissue. When the liposuction is completed the sutures are applied on the incisions. The treatment duration depends on the number of zones treated and the volume of the removed lipid tissue.

A new generation liposuction method more suitable to emphasize a rather athletic body  has been also available. This method is known as high definition (HD) liposuction. This procedure also involves incisions for cannula insertion; however, lipid tissue is not mechanically destructed by the subcutaneous cannula movements due to surgeon’s motions. The lipid tissue is destructed and liquefied by means of ultrasound – only the lipid tissue is destructed all other tissues remain intact. Excellent results are achieved, a bode tone increases resulting in stronger and even more athletic body appearance.

The removed lipid tissue can be used for transplantation – for shaping the areas lacking curves and expressiveness. Such as, for  lips, cheek and breast shaping.

Post-surgical period and care

After the treatment you will experience swelling, aching and skin bruising. The majority swelling should resolve within 2–3 weeks after the liposuction treatment and bruising usually resolves after 7–10 days. You will have to wear a compressive garment for about 4–6 weeks that will help to control welling and facilitates healing.

You can return back to your work in few day after this treatment, however physical load as well as expose to sun and heat should be limited. All information necessary for your recovery will be provided by the doctor.

Results

Just after the surgery you will see the altered body shape, however the final result should be assessed in at least several months after the treatment. It is normal that after 6–9 months you experience mild body swelling after being involved in sports or higher physical activity

The liposuction results should be long lasting, however it is very important to follow a healthy life style and to maintain a constant body weight.
